WDVS clients would benefit from items that are needed for starting new such as pans, sheets, towels, kitchen appliances, school supplies and shoes.
Winnemucca Domestic Violence Services is dedicated to providing victims and their children with a safe environment free from abuse, while educating the community on the signs and effects of domestic and sexual violence. WDVS provides emergency shelter in hotels up to a week, short term shelter up to 60 days if a Humboldt County resident, 30 days if out of County, and a rapid rehousing program where WDVS pays for 3-9 months of partial rent to start a family in their own home after leaving an abusive relationship. We also provide services such a counseling (by a licensed counselor), legal and medical advocacy as well as in-depth case management. We educate on teen dating, healthy relationships and sexual boundaries.
