One Nation Walking Together Ravelry Group
The purpose of this Ravelry group is to make hand crafted items such as clothing and practical household items for Native Americans in need. One Nation Walking Together is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and is not affiliated with any religious group. You may read more about One Nation Walking Together on its web site at
Suggested items of need: Afghans, baby items, cowls, dish towels, finger-less gloves, gloves, hats,
household items, lap blankets, mittens, potholders, scarves, shawls, ski masks, socks, soft toys, sweaters,
vests, wash cloths. We are open to ideas for other items or a seasonal campaign theme.
NO OWL motifs, please, as an owl signifies a bad omen in some Native communities.
Please limit your use of wool yarn. Yes, it is warmer for winter, but wool can trigger allergies, or the
recipient may not have the ability to give extra care to woolen items. Although we have not set a
“percentage of wool” limit, on the tag you attach to an item, please state “wool blend” if it contains any
wool. We believe that less than 50% wool content will address the allergies and laundering issues.
For those of you who do not already belong, please consider joining our Charity Knitting group here on
Ravelry. We keep a count of all the charity items donated annually and it is impressive. Simply join and
we will add your items to the totals. Thank you very much for your kind and giving hearts.
